The Association for Sandplay Therapy is delighted to hold its first Sandplay Congress in five years in September 2024 in South Africa, at the luxury safari resort of Hippo Lakes!
This is an opportunity for you to immerse yourself in the spirit of Sandplay in Africa and honour the beauty of this therapy, whilst having the experience of a lifetime!
Come to South Africa to connect with fellow Sandplay Therapists, taste the incredible African cuisine and listen to the sounds of the African night under a canopy of stars, breathtakingly visible in the Southern hemisphere.
The congress will begin on Sunday 1st September 2024 and finish on Sunday 8th September 2024.
Included in the Congress Fee:
- Bus transport between Hippo Lakes and OR Tambo Airport
- Luxury 4* ensuite room with air-conditioning (two people sharing)
- Breakfast, lunch & dinner all included (buffet style)
- All coffee, tea, juice, water included (alcohol and soda for own bill)
- Conference lectures, presentations, discussions, and group consultations (Full Participants only)
- Game drives around the reserve (over 30 different animal species)
- 1x “Big 5” excursion to see lions, elephants, rhinos, buffalos & leopards.
- A memorable Braai (BBQ) eaten under canvas.
Excluded from Congress Fee:
- Flights, travel, and accommodation outside Hippo Lakes
- Alcohol and soft drinks obtainable from cash bar
- All extra game drives and excursions available at the venue
Transport Arrangements and Times:

Arrivals:
- International arrivals are at Terminal A
- Domestic arrivals are at Terminal B
Overnight accommodation at OR Tambo International:
(We recommend arriving at OR Tambo before or on Saturday 31 August, 2024, and arrange for international departure from OR Tambo late evening of 8 September, or on Monday 9 September, 2024).
There are 2 hotels within walking distance from the airport:
Transport:
- Own transport is allowed but no driving within Hippo Lakes Park.
- Parking is available at the venue for private vehicles.

- Full Participant at Congress :: Single Payment :: Shared Room :: Specify sharing preferences during registration and if required, add partner ($1650) as a guest after the full participant registers their details
- HL24 Partner non-Congress::Full Payment::Shared Room - $1650
- Partner non-Congress :: Single Payment :: Shared Room :: Specify sharing preferences during registration and add main Congress attendee name
When booking any Full Congress shared room ticket – you can add a “Partner non-congress” ticket at the same time. If you register without paying, payment is required within 7 days of registration. Registration closes on 30th August 2024.

If you have been issued with a registration code - use the following ticket type and enter the registration code when required.

Cancellation terms
- Up to and Including 90 Days Prior to Scheduled Date:

- Cancellations received up to and including 90 days prior to the scheduled date will incur a 10% administration fee.
- 89 – 65 Days Prior:
-
- Cancellations made between 89 and 65 days prior to the scheduled date will result in a 25% deduction from the registration fee.
- 64 – 30 Days Prior:
-
- Cancellations made between 64 and 30 days prior to the scheduled date will be subject to a 50% deduction from the registration fee.
- 29 – 15 Days Prior:
-
- Cancellations received between 29 and 15 days prior to the scheduled date will incur a 75% deduction from the registration fee.
- 14 Days or Fewer Prior:
-
- No refunds will be issued for cancellations made 14 days or fewer prior to the scheduled date.
Please note that the abovementioned fees exclude the Non-Refundable Deposit Fee if a Payment Plan is used.
By proceeding with the registration, you acknowledge and agree to these cancellation terms. We recommend reviewing our cancellation policy carefully before completing your registration.
REGISTRATION
To register and pay, go to the left side of the the event page, scroll to the bottom of the ticket types list and click on the "Register" button at the bottom.
After registering the main participant, you can proceed to online payment. Some ticket types give you the option to add a guest. Once those details are added, you can proceed to online payment - the total for both tickets is shown.
Online payment is via Credit Card (MasterCard, Visa, Discover, Amex). Debit cards are accepted if they are issued by the same card issuers (MasterCard, Visa, Discover, Amex).
If you are an AST member and use the same email address as your AST membership account, the registration process will recognise you and your payments will be visible in your AST membership account.
Payments will generally appear as "Association for Sandpl" on your approvals requests and statements. If need to speak to your bank about approvals, the AST payments processor is "Affinipay". All payments are in USD.
AFTER REGISTRATION
You will be send an email confirming your registration with a link to your AST account where you can pay any invoices required. Each time you pay, you will also receive an email confirming payment and a link to the invoice.
If you click on the "Registration details page" in the event registration email - this takes you to your AST account. if you are an AST member and using the same email for AST membership - use you AST email and password. If you have forgotten your password or this is the first time you have looked at your event details - click on "Forgot Password" to get a new account password sent to you (check your junk/spam if you don't receive a password reset email). You can change to a different password once logged into your AST event account.
Payment Plan Instalment Invoices
Once your registration is confirmed and deposit paid, you will then eventually receive seperate invoices dated for each installment. The invoice dates will depend when the deposit is paid and how many instalments you are paying over. Each invoice has a link to online payment.
You can also log in to your AST event account anytime to see the invoices and pay online from there.
Refunds
These will normally be via paypal from AST.
